Krispy Kreme on Ponce
If you’ve never been to a Krispy Kreme, I mean a real Krispy Kreme with all the cogs and belts exposed — this is the one to go to. Most Atlantans can’t remember or imagine a time where this building did not exist, and to that fact this location is often mistakenly credited as the “original Krispy Kreme.” While the true first Krispy Kreme set up shop some twenty-eight years before in Winston-Salem, this Ponce location has been most of Atlanta’s original Krispy Kreme experience since 1965. If you spot the infamous “HOT NOW” neon sign in the window you are guaranteed one of life’s greatest and simplest pleasures: a glazed doughnut that was batter just minutes before.
